Paris fell silent

"Paris fell silent" is a single featuring Max Herring under the artist name Xxäm. The song details the city of love being the site at which a couple break up.

Lyrics

We walked along the banks of the Seine for a while
Hand in hand
Stopped in a café, watched the world going by
Thinking, “ain’t life grand”

Then you told me about your plans
To be more free
A set of ideas you wanted to enact
That didn’t involve me

I know you didn’t want to hurt me
That you’re in no way violent
But that’s the precise moment
Paris fell silent

You were once my knight in shining armour
I know you’re no hero
In a haze, we parted ways
I meandered to the Trocadero

Shouting filling every corner of my mind
Why didn’t I see
It turned out, you were so disinclined
To be with me

I know you didn’t want to hurt me
That you’re in no way violent
But that’s the precise moment
Paris fell silent

I know you didn’t want to hurt me
That you’re in no way violent
But that’s the precise moment
Paris fell silent

Paris fell silent
Woah-ooh
Yes, Paris fell silent
Paris fell silent
