"Child of the 80s" is a song by LorD and Master from the album Demeanour. It is the first single to be taken from the album and, indeed, opens the album, helping to set the tone for a more reflective, electronic and somewhat more minimal collection of songs. In "Child of the 80s", LorD and Master reflects upon growing up, experiencing the childhood that took place in the 1980s in Hastings, England, mentioning 80s events (privatisation under Margaret Thatcher and that parents had to pay for their children's milk given in schools (though it must be said that Thatcher's "milk stealing" occurred in 1972, though the effects were still felt in the 80s)) and various technological and cultural elements of the decade.
