"Dirty old town" is a song by LorD and Master from the album, Definitely. The song takes place in Hastings, LorD and Master's home town, and chronicles the journey of a refugee in the town. They watch the sea they crossed in getting to the UK, they wander Hastings Old Town with its bohemian characters and cobbled, ancient streets. They make their way past the Odeon cinema, past the street with The Clown pub on it (Russell Street) and then make their way under the underpass near McDonald's and Sports Direct towards the seafront and the Old Town once more, reflecting on their life as they go.

Lyrics

Across the water
So far from home
I’ve never felt so alone

I made it so far
I didn’t drown
Ended up in this dirty old town

Dirty old town
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
Dirty old town

The pebbled beach
The crashing waves
Getting lost near the caves

By the cinema
Past the Clown
The underpass to the dirty old town

I never thought I would end up here
Looking from the gardens to the pier
Fail in London, head for the coast
A Victorian resort’s ghost
