Eclipse
Eclipse is the fifteenth LorD and Master album, released 9 July 2018. The album was recorded using Apple's Logic Pro X software during the winter of 2017/2018.
Concept
The concept of the album was to continue the idea of discrete pop songs that wind through a possible narrative that the listener could determine for themselves, while each song was open to interpretation. The concepts laid down in Definitely were also employed while production-wise, it was decided that after purchasing a lot of different sample- and synth-based sounds, a lot of presets would be used. The production was, therefore, a great deal more detailed and perhaps granular. The title was chosen because a lot of the songs sounded mysterious with new and alien sounds and the word evokes a sense of wonder that matched those ideas. The songs also examine an unusual darkness.
The artwork, by LorD and Master was made using Adobe After Effects and was a literal representation of a solar eclipse, on a plain black field. Since the eclipse was so evident in the artwork, it was decided that just the artist name be required in terms of typography.
