"Persistent fantasy" is a song by LorD and Master from the album Witness. It is a love song about finding the most perfect man (it is one of few LorD and Master songs which acknowledges the gender of the subject, making it overtly gay) who is deemed to be "one in a billion" and matches closely the singer's concept of the fantasy partner. The lyrics are autobiographical and the song is about Peter Nugent.
Lyrics
I've got a persistent fantasy of you The sky is grey but your eyes are mellow blue You want it all and I want to give it to My love You bring the night and I want to spend the day I look at you and I know we'll find a way To make it easy to find the words to say My love You're One in a billion and you're All I can see You're The only man to match my Persistent fantasy I've got a persistent fantasy right here You're far away but my love can draw you near And cause the distance and time to disappear My love I've gotta get it all out because I feel We are the only ones to make it real We dive right in and there's nothing to conceal My love I am so lucky that you're Right here with me You're The only man to match my Persistent fantasy
