"Saying goodbye" is a LorD and Master song which began life as a SilverSpirit song called "I don't want to say goodbye", written by Daniel Bailey-Graham and Tommy Bailey-Graham in 2000, with the former writing the music and the chorus lyrics and the latter having written the verse lyrics sometime before. In early 2009, when work on One began, a dance version of the song was conceived and produced as a full-length club track focusing around the main melody, and the whole track grew around it.
