"Autumn twilight" is a song by LorD and Master from the album, Up. The song is about the end of a relationship, but one in which struggling to avoid the ending actually causes the ending. The music is based on the first piece of music Dan ever wrote at the age of either eight or eleven. Can't remember. Sorry about that.

Lyrics

In the end
We try to escape our fate
Leading us to the date
Of our demise

I thought we
Could put up more of a fight
In this autumn twilight
Of compromise

But of course, we don’t
Or perhaps, we won’t
But it is time to say
Our goodbyes

Welcome, my friend
To the end of times
We have blurred the lines
Far too much

I’ll keep what we had
What’s now in the past
Safely behind the glass
Too precious to touch

What the future may hold
Can never really be told
We’re left with the straws
At which we can clutch

What the future may hold
Can never really be told
So there’s never a fight
In autumn twilight
