"Cruel to be kind" is a song by LorD and Master. It is the B-side to "Not that strong" and was written some months after the rest of the Fractured album. The song explores guilt that one feels when one is suffering from a breakdown and not showing up to social events, seeing friends or what-have-you and you feel you're being cruel to be kind.

Lyrics

You think it matters
You think it means something
It’s a fatal mistake

You might find it
Rattling cages
But a heart’s gonna break

Knowing you
The way I do
The truth will always out
Knowing you
The way I do
There’s always something
To bitch about

You’re going crazy
Insane
You can’t explain it
Again
You’re going crazy
Out of your mind
You think you’re being
Cruel to be kind

Another sunrise
Brightens your bedroom
But you’re still lying in bed

Another social
Invitation
But you can’t escape your own head
