Maxi-single

A maxi-single is a musical release that centres on one specific prime song, often taken from an album as a means of promotion for that album or specific song.

An maxi-single (previously (and incorrectly) called an EP throughout this site), in terms of a LorD and Master release, often includes one or more B-sides (unrelated additional song recorded at around the same time) and a number of remixes (a new version of the song using elements of the original) of the prime song, which can often be referred to as the 'single', though this is not to be confused with a solitary track released on its own, which is correctly called a single.
