Not yet

"Not yet" is a song by LorD and Master recorded during the Up sessions and is the B-side of "Do it". The song is about biding one's time until the time is right for a special moment to take place.

Lyrics

You wanna seize your moment
You wanna make this day yours
You wanna stand on stage
You wanna receive your applause

But the time isn’t right
Barriers are up and won’t come down
It might not be tonight
But you’ll get your crown

Not yet
You’ll never forget
Not yet
You’ll only regret
Not yet

The time is edging closer
Midnight strikes, the floor is yours
It’s time to take the limelight
You wanna receive your applause

But you’ve gotta play it cool
You need to know that things aren’t going wrong
Don’t wanna be a fool
Trigger an early dénoument

Perform to the best of your abilities
No need for money, medals or trophies
Stand up then press play and record
It’s its own reward
