Touchpaper

"Touchpaper" is a song by LorD and Master that ends the album, Dialogue, with a tale of revenge.

Lyrics

Somewhere in the darkness
There’s a monster on the loose
Winter’s cloak shrouds him
And saves him from the noose

Locking down the house at night
Through the streets he creeps
A shadow falls over a town
As nervously, it sleeps

Somewhere in the darkness
There’s a monster on the loose
Picking off the people
He blames for his abuse

He may have been the victim
He may be in the right
But now he’s in the shadows
And fallen from the light

Somewhere in the darkness
There’s a monster on the loose
He made a deal with demons
There will never be a truce

They used to laugh to loudly
They never heard his cries
Now they’re fitful sleepers
Dark circles round their eyes

Somewhere in the darkness
There’s a monster on the loose
Someone lit the touchpaper
Just to see the flames produce

Somewhere in the distance
The clouds heavy with snow
Their undersides are burning
With an awful orange glow
