Dialogue album art.

Dialogue is the nineteenth original studio album by LorD and Master. Released 2 November 2020, Dialogue explores more personal themes such as ageing, agoraphobia and body image.

Concept

With Dialogue, the concept was fairly simple: matching relatable lyrics to songs made using virtual analogue synths. Virtual analogue synths are, in this case, circuit-faithful recreations of classic 70s and 80s synths that operate on a software level. Using virtual instruments made by u-he and Arturia, the sound of the album is consistent and smooth. The title is a play on the word "dialogue", its similarity to the word "analogue" and the fact that the songs are intended to open discussion about their themes. Visually, the album is accompanied by fractal noise-based artwork. The "funky orb" of the album art is created using Adobe After Effects, allowing for the image to be easily lit from different angles, showing different specular highlights and such, as demonstrated in the album's trailer.
