Forbidden

Forbidden is the eighth original studio album by LorD and Master. Released 19 September 2015, it is a collection of darker, more reflective electronic pop songs written in quick succession following the closure of the local LGBTQ+-friendly venue, The Forbidden Fruit. It was produced using Apple's Logic Pro software.

Concept

The album was written with the intention of being darker, more contemplative and less upbeat than previous releases, moving away from lyrically heavy choruses but instead focusing on poignancy. Some of the songs act in pairs where there are thematic or sonic links that bind the album into a kind of set of mini-narratives, though each song is definitely a standalone piece in its own right.

Album art for the project was conceived by Dan, with directional input from Peter Nugent.
