Influence is the second collection of Pet Shop Boys songs covered by LorD and Master. It is the third covers-only release by LorD and Master, after Obviously and Recovery. Release date: 17 October 2015.

Concept

The idea behind the album was to select another batch of Dan's favourite songs and reinterpret them in the LorD and Master style, though this did include re-covering two previous songs from Obviously ("Rent" and "It's a sin") whose new interpretations benefit from the use of more up-to-date software, instruments and mastering technologies. The album art is itself an interpretation of Pet Shop Boys' own artwork for the single "Heart", which shows a portrait of Neil Tennant in a bowler hat. The Influence artwork also mimics Pet Shop Boys early art design style by Mark Farrow, with a small portrait (actually a self-portrait), surrounded by a field of white with minimal text underneath. "LorD and Master, influence." mimics "Pet Shop Boys, actually." in its execution. The word influence was chosen as the title because Pet Shop Boys are a huge influence on LorD and Master, a reason so obvious that it links neatly to the first collection of such songs, Obviously.
