Scorpio

From LorD and Master Knowledge

"Scorpio" is a song by LorD and Master and is the B-side to "Modern age", from the album Up. The song is sung from the point of view of a guy that Dan had dated a number of years ago. Dan went on a bit of a tirade about how ridiculous horoscopes were and the aforementioned guy actually put stock in such superstitious nonsense and as a result, they parted ways. Details about the individuals have been changed (Dan, for example, is actually a Virgo, not a Scorpio, for instance) to protect the innocent, but the concept is largely the same. The idea of working on a song called Scorpio is years old, and written down in a notebook on a page of song titles that Dan and Victoria as Chipset, were going to work on.

Lyrics

You’re a Scorpio
You’ll take what you can
You’re a Scorpio
Oh oh oh oh

You’re a Scorpio
On the other hand
You’re a Scorpio
Oh oh oh oh

Tell me a story
What’s your sign?
Don’t think me foolish
These beliefs are mine

I’m clean and tidy
I like to deal with the truth
Such a typical Virgo
Do you need further proof?

Give me a reason
To start loving you
The stars are against us
So what can we do?

You’re a critical thinker
I have faith on my side
Perhaps I’m picking at problems
But the gulf is too wide
