Featuring artwork.

Featuring is an album by LorD and Master. It was produced over a two-year period from early 2018 to early 2020. Featuring is a unique album as it is not an album of original songs, but original recordings of covers with other artists. Released 24 April 2020 on Pink Dolphin Records, this is the first album not to be self-released by LorD and Master under the Taspir III Records label.

Concept

The album was conceived in 2018 when Dan began producing covers of his favourite songs by non-Pet Shop Boys artists. Thinking of a return to the original LorD and Master formula (which was never adhered to from day one) of asking other people to supply lead vocals for his productions, Dan decided that he would ask various people from both the synth scene and his personal life to do the vocals for him on the tracks he had chosen for the album. The selections of artists to collaborate with were easy enough and every artist approached was kind enough to say yes, though unfortunately, Minerva Saturno was too ill to make the recording sessions for "Viva forever".

Design-wise, the album is furnished with illustrations of each featured artist by Peter Nugent based on images from Facebook. Dan then arranged the individually-drawn figures into a "group photo" pose for the album art, as though they were all there on a big photo-shoot.
